Landscaping and Household Items That Need Special Rubbish Removal

Posted on: 26 March 2019

Cleaning out your home and removing old items may seem like an easy enough task. You likely have the pile to keep, the pile to donate and the pile to throw away. The problem comes in for many people when it is time to get rid of the trash pile. This is the point when you realize that some items are not suitable for traditional rubbish removal. Certain landscaping and household items need special removal. Here are a few of those items and what you need to know about the removal of each one.

Carpeting

Most carpeting cannot be put into traditional rubbish removal bins. Carpet has several layers that can be considered hazardous under certain conditions. For example, it can contain chemicals that can catch on fire if they are exposed to too much heat. Carpeting can also have allergens that can cause chemical reactions with other items found in rubbish bins. For this reason, if you have large amounts of carpeting that have to be removed, you will need to have special skip bins or rubbish disposal services to safely contain and remove the carpet from your location.

Lawn Furniture

Lawn furniture can be tricky when it comes to removal. If the furniture is broken and no longer suitable for donation or selling, then you have to look at the materials. Certain materials such as steel may be suitable for scrap metal style rubbish removal. However, treated wood or PVC may need special removal depending on your location. Your rubbish company can advise you on the ideal disposal methods for the furniture material and whether you need other removal options or if they can remove them using special methods.

Construction Materials

If you are renovating your home during this clean-up, you may have items such as siding and guttering. These items can contain lead paint or asbestos, both known to cause illness. If you aren't sure if the items have these issues, contact your local hazardous waste and rubbish removal instead of your traditional removalists. They can contain the materials and remove them. They can also test other items to ensure they are not contaminated as well.

Once you know which landscaping and household items will need certain types of rubbish removal, you can contact your local skip bin hire or rubbish company. They can help with the removal, skip bins for the items and other services that may pertain to your specific situation. They can also help with pricing and additional questions you have.
